2006
[edit]The fate of France in the 2006 world cup have the same space that 100 years of history... that's ridicolous.
That's something I've disliked about Wikipedia from the beginning - the modern bias. It's like that on the vast majority of Wikipedia articles about modern subjects that change over time. Things from the past don't suffer from this, but I could see the length of a section on say, George W. Bush's death, being longer than the section about his first term. That's the modern bias for you. - esp
Fixtures & Results
[edit]Hello! Does anybody think this section would be useful for the page? I have looked at other national teams and many seem to have upcoming and most recent match dates and scores listed. Thanks for consideration.
3rd place for Semifinalist since 1984
[edit]Hi everyone
As we all know, European Championship or Euro don't have 3rd place playoff since 1984. So obviously, there is no 3rd place award since and the position for semifinalists are determined on the final tournament standings (based on points, goal difference, etc). As for France, they were semifinalists in both 1996 & 2024. And on both occasions, they finished on 4th on the final standings. I can see someone (using no log in) continue trying to amend France position as 3rd place on those 2 tournaments. I don't think it is right unless there is an official documents from UEFA mention that semifinalists from 1984 are shared 3rd place then it's OK. I can't see any source indicate so. I really don't want to have to go back & forth and have an edit war with someone (who not even log in). Personally as a France football team supporter, I would love to have France finished 3rd but it has to be right. You cannot just edit base on your assumption.

- Not much to discuss. There is no medal, so no honour. Seasider53 (talk) 14:21, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you - That's exactly what I thought. Viva69 (talk) 05:41, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
There have been no bronze medals since the 1984 edition.
[edit]There have been no bronze medals since the 1984 edition. Apparently there is an unregistered user who doesn't realize this. Chris182003 (talk) 04:29, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
