Mayamaya Disease
[edit]Eternalsleeper, you do not have to duplicate pages to create two pages by the same name. You can create redirects by making a page with the code "#REDIRECT [[Name of Article]]" (no quotes) at the top of the page you want the redirect to come from, replacing "Name of Article" with the name of the article to which you want the redirect to point. I did it for you for Mayamaya Disease. Thank you. Andrew pmk 02:20, 14 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Lahoud
[edit]Hi Eternalsleeper, judging by your edits at Emile Lahoud and Rafik Hariri, you have strong feelings about Lahoud. This is just a reminder that edits must conform with Wikipedia:NPOV, as well as Wikipedia:Cite sources and Wikipedia:No original research. That doesn't mean you can't insert criticism of Lahoud, but it must be attributed to a credible publication. I've removed one of your edits from the Lahoud article, another from Hariri, and there's a paragraph in Lahoud that will have to be deleted if it's not referenced soon, though I don't know whether you wrote that one. See Talk page of Lahoud article for details. I hope this clarification helps. Best, SlimVirgin 00:39, Feb 15, 2005 (UTC)
Image Tagging for Image:Iman123.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Iman123.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Soloway jewish communtiy center
[edit]The article Soloway jewish communtiy center has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.
Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki 12:37, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

It has nothing to do with your topic's relation to Judaism. It's a local group with no asserted notability per WP:N. And how do you know I'm not Jewish? NawlinWiki 03:36, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hi. Thanks for joining Wikipedia and I welcome someone who's adding Judaism-related material. You might want to join WP:JUDAISM. You're new and confused by the rules here and clearly frustrated by them too. However, please take the time to settle in before venting like this ([1]). NawlinWiki is a well-respected admin who doesn't deserve the comment you left. It's unfounded and blatantly untrue. [edit]Hello. Concerning your contribution, James Kugel, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. For text material, please consider rewriting the content and citing the source, provided that it is credible.

Jewish Defense League
[edit]I see no reason why I should be threatened with a block. What the other party has done is vandalise the article with untruth. What I have done is to revert that vandalism. If you go to the FBI website that was on the article, press Ctrl-F and then type in "Jewish" and search. You would see that the JDL is deemed a "right-wing terrorist group".
I know the JDL and Kach are two different movements. That FBI terrorism website specifically mentioned the JDL.

[edit]Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Jewish Defense League, you will be blocked from editing. —DerHexer (Talk) 18:42, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
- DerHexer, you and Denis are the vandals. You have no proof that JDL is a terrorist group, in fact, I called the FBI and asked them personally and they are not a terrorist group. So stop your nonsense bias, please...
- I don't see myself as a vandal at all :) Unfortunately, it's not enough that some unnamed person at the FBI tells you that they don't regard the JDL as a terrorist group. It has to do with verifiability, a fundamental Wikipedia policy. You need to find some published official statement by the FBI, or else ask them to clarify their position in a public statement. Please note that we are not saying that the FBI lists the JDL as a terrorist group in 2007, because we don't have any evidence for that. We say that they used the label "right-wing terrorist group" in their report for 2000/2001 (which is the latest available).--Denis Diderot 02:23, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
- You have no official proof JDL is listed as a terror group. I will say though, it humors me that the two or three people have contributed to strictly anti-Zionist articles in the past.
~~eternalsleeper~~
Your edit [2] and the edits above look like they fail to assume the good faith of the other editors when you start throwing around accusations of "anti-Zionist" and "anti-Semetic" (actually it's anti-Semitic) but spelling errors aside it's still not civil. Ttiotsw 04:10, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Me123.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Me123.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit]You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content which gains a consensus among editors. Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Ontario College of Teachers. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Ontario College of Teachers with a link to where we can find that note;
- If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article Talk page. Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at Talk:Ontario College of Teachers with a link to the details.
Otherwise, you are encouraged to rewrite this article in your own words to avoid any copyright infringement. After you do so, you should place a {{hangon}} tag on the article page and leave a note at Talk:Ontario College of Teachers saying you have done so. An administrator will review the new content before taking action.
It is also important that all Wikipedia articles have an encyclopedic tone and follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Your original contributions are welcome. --Kinu t/c 06:51, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Saskatchewan communities
[edit]A few notes for you:
- Per Wikipedia naming conventions, communities are always named in the format "Town, Province" unless you can provide proof that the community in question is either the most overwhelmingly important meaning of its name or the only possible meaning of its name. For example, Saskatoon can be at a plain title, because it meets the criterion of being the most important thing called Saskatoon, and Iqaluit can be at a plain title, because it meets the criterion of being the only encyclopedic thing in the world called Iqaluit — but "Timber Bay" and "Paddockwood" don't meet either criterion, and thus they have to be at Timber Bay, Saskatchewan and Paddockwood, Saskatchewan.
- Don't add a community to Category:History of Saskatchewan unless the article specifically explains what's inherently historic about the place.
- If an article is already in Category:Towns in Saskatchewan, don't add it to Category:Communities in Saskatchewan as well — it's one or the other, based on the place's actual government-assigned legal incorporation status, not both.
Thanks. Bearcat 09:11, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
So you know, I have mostly gutted and rewritten that article. While your prose was certainly fanciful, it had too much fluff to be stylistically appropriate for an encyclopedia. I hope you understand why I did this. Kurt Weber 13:20, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

Sault Ste. Marie
[edit]Sault Ste. Marie's population and economy may be in flux right now, but between the 2001 and 2006 censuses the city's population increased. Not by much, granted, but it did increase. Consequently, an article stating that the population is dropping is, by definition, out of date and not useful at the present time. Furthermore, an article of that type should be used as a source reference, when one is needed to back up statements of fact in the article, and not just as an external link. Bearcat 04:55, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
- 2001 census population: 74,566. 2006 census population: 74,948. Increase of 382. Source: Canada 2006 Census. Nobody said anything about "one single person". And whether a city's population is increasing or decreasing is defined by comparing one census to the next, not by skipping censuses to compare any random two that suit your point. Bearcat 08:51, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
- You're free to second-guess Statistics Canada on your own time all you want. But per our no original research rules, you're not going to contradict or criticize StatsCan data in a Wikipedia article unless you can find an actual verifiable source to indicate that a media or public interest organization has openly criticized the data as inaccurate. The populations of Sudbury, North Bay and Thunder Bay also rose in the same period, so clearly something at least mildly encouraging is going on in Northern Ontario whether you can put your finger on it or not. Speedy deletion of SABER EL ROUBAY
[edit]A tag has been placed on SABER EL ROUBAY, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD a7.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. —Ignatzmicetalkcontribs 23:10, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

Reversion
[edit]I just reverted you changes to Nahr_al-Bared. In my opinion the word terrorist should be used with care, as it labels a group of people with a negative criticism that might not be supported by all the readers of wikipedia. For example, calling hippies "Weirdo's" might be true for most people, but there are also people who dont share that belief :)
--Excirial 06:33, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
- I am not sure if you are aware, but comparing a hippie to weirdo is not similar to calling Fatah al Islam resistance. Fatah al Islam is an Al Qaida inspired organization which targeted and murdered hundreds of Lebanese civilians. Can you explain to me how you consider this resistance, and can you explain why the US State Dept. has added them to their terror list and why they are all either dead or in prison awaiting trial in Lebanon right now for their involvement in terrorism?
- The opinion of the united states is not an absolute truth opinion. Many countries in the middle east will see Fatah Al Islam as a resistance group. If you seriously want to use the word terrorist, at least keep a neutral point of view by adding a reference. You could also think about changing the line to something that denoted that there is a specific group claiming that the group is terrorist. Dont get me wrong, i personally agree with you, but opinions don't matter on encyclopaedic content. --Excirial 06:42, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
- What countries are you talking about, even Hezbollah considers them a terrorist organization??? The only ones who would consider them resistance are the enemies of Lebanon. I've never heard of a country supporting Fatah al Islam or calling them a legitimate resistance movement. They targetted Lebanese civilians. They were foreign fighters coming from Syria, Saudi Arabia, with Palestinians as well but who are they resisting and how do you figure people assume this of them, are you talking about Al Qaida? ;)--Eternalsleeper 06:46, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

- Ok, ok, i guess you are right. I was indeed referring to the enemies of Lebanon when i made my previous post. In all due honesty i expected that this was a mindless alteration without sources, as i see rather regular. Im not sure if its already done, but please add the link you provided to me as a reference next to the word terrorist, so that it remains a NPov article :) --Excirial 06:51, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Cheikhandhiswifebaby.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Cheikhandhiswifebaby.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 20:52, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. Your very first edit to this page (with your current username) was a large blind revert. I checked back several years. See this diff. Please make small edits at first on such a controversial page. And please participate on the talk page about your edits.
The page was stable for over 2 weeks until the latest revert war was started by Tewfik. The last stable version was the one edited by Tiamut. You blind-reverted Tiamut. Nobody who has followed Tewfik in these blind reverts has explained these large reversions. They only discussed some minor points, and consensus was reached on nearly all those minor points. The rest of the large blind reversion has not been discussed. This is not the way to improve wikipedia. --Timeshifter (talk) 00:29, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of United Nations Security Council Resolution 520, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/UN/unres520.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 14:21, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Green Lane Masjid
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Green Lane Masjid, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}}
to the top of Green Lane Masjid. EmmetCaulfield (talk) 08:27, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit]I've restored most of the material you removed but added some additional material in order to make things more balanced. I found two or three lines that did look like they were "cut and pasted" so I either removed them or reworded them. I left out the paragraph about the Star "ridiculing" the JDL and have put that on the Talk page for comments on whether or not it should be included and in what form. Re: Your comment on my talk page
[edit]Why didn't you put a dispute tag on my photo in regards to the Syrian agents beating up Lebanese protestors? That was a great photo and now I can't find it again. It was a free use image, not good.

- I'm not sure which image you're talking about because I delete hundreds of images every day that I do admin stuff (which is only like 4/7 days of the week, but it's still a lot of images). And I never delete any image that hasn't had some fair use dispute tag on it for at least 7 days. So if your image was free use, then someone made a mistake somewhere along the line and I got the impression that it was fair use. If you tell me the name of the image then I can restore it for you. Unspecified source for Image:1249franco.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:1249franco.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 00:46, 1 May 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Rettetast (talk) 00:46, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia Commons
[edit]Hi Eternal. Yes, I did like just photos from Lebanon. Really good stuff, you don't see much of that around.
Wikipedia Commons is part of the Wikipedia project and is a repository of free images, either images which are too old for copyright, or images released by their creators. This allows for the images to be easily used on all the Wikipedia projects, not just for example the English language one. It's also used quite a lot by magazines and such looking for good images, so it's common to uload images with a licence like Attribution 3.0 Unported. Wikipedia:WikiProject Moving free images to Wikimedia Commons shows how to move images to Commons. I recommend using Commonshelper for moves (it's listed at the how-to page), to the point where it asks you if you want an automatic upload or upload it yourself, then upload yourself so you'll get the image in your Commons gallery. When you sign up at Commons you get an account with a gallery that shows all the images you've uploaded to Commons, which is very practical. I recommend signing up to Commons, I too used to upload direct to English Wiki, but this is much better. Best of luck, you've got many beautiful and important photos that should get the widest possible publication. Manxruler (talk) 23:07, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Lebanese Forces Official Websites
[edit]Hey there, I have noticed that you edited the external links in the article Lebanese Forces to point to other unofficial links. The Lebanese Forces official websites are : www.lebanese-forces.com and www.lebforces.org/forum . Any particular reason as to why you have edited the links ? Thanks a lot Charles-LF (talk) 11:46, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
First of all, thanks for the reply. When was the last time the site got 'hacked' ?? your statement "which gets hacked every other week" makes no sense at all, for as far as i remember, the .org site,too, got hacked ... is that a convenient qualification for being official or not ? And where do your information come from regarding the "is far more popular, and gets much more traffic" ?? Any particular references? Third question, where does the .org get it's "Official" title from ? any "official" papers or memo or anything ?
I hope you would answer my questions so we could understand each others point of view.
Charles-LF (talk) 10:29, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
Hey there again.
I have noticed in your reply that you only discussed the forums but didn't mention the main news sources or portal or whatever you want to call it (www.lebanese-forces.com). By your reference, which is Alexa, www.lebanese-forces.com is way more popular than www.lebanese-forces.org, ain't I right? i agree that the lebforces.org forum has been down for a long while, but this does not justify the fact that www.lebanese-forces.COM is the official website referred to by the LF leadership. (one is a news portal, the other is a forum....there's a difference!!)
In my opinion, we must keep the website www.lebanese-forces.com as a main link in wikipedia articles, and if you insist on posting the other link, we should be clear that it isn't the Official website as stated by the leadership.
Get what i mean? ... please, do post back on my talk page so we can reach an agreement.I wouldn't mind also if we continue this discussion on msn.
Take care, Charles-LF (talk) 11:39, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:10007.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:10007.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Orphaned non-free image File:Lebaneseforceslogoz.GIF
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Lebaneseforceslogoz.GIF. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 04:22, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Cedarrevolutionmarch14.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Cedarrevolutionmarch14.jpg. Fair use rationale for File:11sssssssss.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:11sssssssss.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:21, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

File source problem with File:18ds3rfds.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:18ds3rfds.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:37, 16 January 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:37, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

File:Brabant-lake.jpg needs authorship information.
[edit]The media file you uploaded as File:Brabant-lake.jpg appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source), or if you did provide such information, it is confusing for others trying to make use of the image.
It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the media clearer.
Although some images may not need author information in obvious cases, (such where an applicable source is provided),authorship information aids users of the image, and helps ensure that appropriate credit is given (a requirement of some licenses).
If you created this media yourself, please consider explicitly including your user name, for which:{{subst:usernameexpand|Eternalsleeper}} will produce an appropriate expansion,
or the {{own}} template..

Community hall of Grenfell, Sask.
[edit]Did you get inside? I'm wondering what the audience capacity in the hall is. I well recall a University of Saskatchewan Regina Campus (as it then was) choir concert there in 1974 but you can readily understand how after all this time I can't recall what the size of the audience was. Filled the hall and afterwards the social gathering place downstairs but that doesn't answer the question. Somewhat minded to add such detail to the article albeit briefly. The town United Church has or had a pipe organ but the concert was held in the community hall where there is of course no organ so that item of the concert was omitted. I also wonder what the opening and closing dates of the movie theatre were. I saw "The Miracle Worker" there as a small child in 1963 but that of course is no indication of when the theatre began and ceased business. And what about the two Chinese cafes that were doing business on Main Street back then, and the closure of the grain elevators? (Where do farmers now deliver grain?) Grenfell
[edit]Ah. Well, I confess that I haven't been there for a long time, though three of the photos in the article are either taken by me or were family photos. I was there often when my grandparents were still alive, when I was in high school to drive the tractor on the farm and, believe it or not, when the university choir was there giving a concert on a provincial tour: not yesterday, obviously. Several other photos taken by cousins (I'm the eldest of 45 (!).) Masalai (talk) 23:02, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite
[edit]Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:56, 20 October 2016 (UTC)

It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

The file File:Dads1111111112.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Orphaned image with no foreseeable encyclopedic use.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Pkbwcgs (talk) 19:53, 25 April 2018 (UTC)
